PLYMOUTH is the largest City in Devon & near to the Cornish border. It started as a little fishing village called Sutton but when the deep-water anchorage was discovered at the mouth of the River Plym the small community grew into a large important Naval &Trading Port. It also gained a glorious history when the first Pilgrim Fathers setting out in 1620 & settled in America , to the start/end of Sir Francis Chichester's first solo RTW voyage in Gypsy Moth in 1967.
