BYRON
BAY(NSW) is 830kms North of Sydney & the Cape is the most Easterly
point of the Oz mainland. It promotes itself as a Community rather
than a Resort with a life style established by its “Hippie”
settlers from the 1960’s. Today its image & attitude to
the carefree life remains & is conveyed in the latest local
guide viz. “ Wallowing in the mainstream of social & economic
fashion is not the Byron style – locals drive politicians
nuts - Rusty”. The easy nature of everyday life is Byron’s
uniqueness which makes it especially appealing to a backpacker &
gets bonus marks over other Resorts along this fabulous Eastern
Coastline
